PsyCan FR - Healthcare Practitioners

PsyCan offers membership to licensed physicians, therapists, clinicians, and other healthcare practitioners working or interested in the legal practice of psychedelic medicine. Together, we are advancing access to psychedelic-assisted therapies for Canadians living with a variety of mental and physical health conditions. The Value of Membership

PsyCan pools our collective resources and combines our strength to present a unified and credible voice for the sector to policymakers at all levels of government — connecting you with the practitioners and decisionmakers shaping the practice of psychedelic medicine.

Our Asks of Government

We encourgage non-partisan and science-informed discussion about psychedelic-assisted therapy.
We are calling for a National Task Force to examine regulatory reforms to increase patient access.
We are pushing for improvements to Health Canada’s Special Access Program including the establishment of a standalone Psychedelic Access Program.
We are seeking increased federal funding for clinical trials investigating psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.

Activities

Parliamentary Dialogue Week — our annual lobbying push at the Canadian parliament in Ottawa, with opportunities to connect with decision makers from every political party.

Provincial Dialogue Days — meetings with legislators on important regulatory matters affecting the practice of psychedelic medicine at the provincial level.

Health Canada — bi-annual meetings with representatives from Health Canada’s Office of Controlled Drugs and Substances and other departments on regulatory affairs.

Public Relations — ongoing intervention in media coverage and public communications about the science, practice, and benefits of psychedelic medicine.

Eligibility & Dues

Membership is open to licensed physicians, therapists, clinicians or other healthcare practitioners working or interested in the legal practice of psychedelic medicine. Dues are $500 a year, with the option to pay on a quarterly basis.
